Kyiv residents endure blackouts and -20 C cold amid strikes

Russia launched new strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities Saturday despite touted peace talks earlier in the week. In Kyiv, some residents sheltered in metro stations from the cold and missile and drone strikes.

In Kyiv, civilians described life without heat or electricity amid Russian attacks as inhumane.

The latest round of peace talks in Abu Dhabi ended without a breakthrough, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said new talks in the United States were planned, with a June deadline to end the war.
